Half-day crew vs one pro, who actually does better work?
Two days later the homeowner called me back about a cracked corner, and when I went to fix it I noticed the crew used regular mortar mix instead of the type N stuff I specified for freeze-thaw zones. The solo guy I work with on side jobs always matches the spec book, but he charges almost double and books out six weeks ahead. Which trade-off do you all lean toward, cheap and fast or slow and solid, when the customer won't budge on price?
