Mortar mix got too stiff in the heat, fixed it with a tarp trick
Last month on a job in Fresno it hit 102 and my mortar was drying before I could lay half a run. I started draping a wet tarp over the stack and it kept it workable an extra 45 minutes easy. Anyone else fight summer slump this way or do you just mix smaller batches?

That tarp trick saved my butt on a driveway pour last July, kept the mud from setting up in the wheelbarrow between trips. Mixing smaller batches helps too but sometimes you just can't keep up with the heat no matter what.
