Warning: saw a crew in Baltimore putting brick right on top of green concrete and it's gonna bite somebody
Was walking a job site near Fells Point last month and watched a crew lay a veneer wall right onto a slab that had been poured maybe 3 days earlier. The block was still sweating and they were already buttering up the first course. I asked the foreman how long the pour had cured and he just shrugged and pointed at the schedule taped to his truck door. That slab was still green, and everyone knows brick doesn't give, it just cracks when the base moves under it. Give it a week minimum, longer if it's cold out, and check the moisture before you touch a trowel. Anybody else seeing crews skip cure time to hit a date?
