A coworker told me my budget categories were too vague, so I split them up

I used to lump all my grocery and dining out into one 'food' category, but a coworker said I was hiding my spending. I broke it into separate line items and saw I was dropping $40 a week on coffee runs alone. Has anyone else had a category change that showed a blind spot?

$40 a week on coffee runs? That's brutal. I would have guessed maybe $15 or $20 but forty bucks is a whole other level. I'd have to sit down after seeing that on paper. Now you know where the real leak in the boat is. Makes me wonder what I'd find if I ever actually looked at my own numbers that close.
