Had a crazy good grocery week where I spent $28 total on everything

Last Wednesday I hit up Aldi right when they marked down their produce at 8 AM. Snagged a bag of avocados for $1.50 that were still firm, got a huge bag of chicken thighs for $4.29, and they had a pallet of canned tomatoes 50% off. I meal prepped 6 lunches and 4 dinners out of it. Then on Friday my neighbor gave me a bunch of zucchini from her garden. Idk if this kind of week happens often but it felt like a budgeting miracle. Anyone else have a week where everything just lined up?

... hold on, $4.29 for a huge bag of chicken thighs? I'm pretty sure that's illegal in my state or something. I paid like $12 for a normal pack last week and felt like I got a deal. That avocado find makes me want to start showing up at Aldi at 8 AM, even though I hate mornings. The zucchini from your neighbor is just rubbing it in at this point, haha. You basically won the grocery lottery and I'm just sitting here jealous.

Well I'll be, $4.29 for chicken thighs is something you just don't see anymore. I remember when that was normal, but now it feels like finding a $20 bill on the sidewalk. It's funny how grocery prices have crept up so slowly that you don't notice until something like this reminds you what things used to cost. I've been doing my shopping at a mix of stores lately, and I swear the same bag of chicken can be double the price just a mile down the road. That's the thing about this whole grocery situation, it's like you have to be a detective to save money these days. You can't just walk into one store anymore and expect a fair price on everything.
