Just realized my "no eating out" rule was actually making me spend more
I was so strict about not buying lunch or coffee that I'd go to the grocery store 3 times a week for "just one thing" and walk out with $40 worth of snacks and random stuff. A friend in Portland told me she budgets $50 a week for eating out and it actually saves her money because she stops impulse buying at the store. Tried it for a month and my food spending dropped by $120. Anyone else find that being too extreme backfires?

Portland friend gets it. That rule always backfired for me too.

Ended up ditching the whole "ask before posting" thing and just started tagging people. Way fewer awkward moments that way.
