My grocery budget was bleeding $50 a week and I never noticed

I kept wondering why my food spending was always $100 over what I planned. Then I looked at my store receipt from last Tuesday and saw I was grabbing a $12 bag of coffee every single week. Add in two $6 bottles of juice and a $5 pack of fancy cheese I didn't really need. That was $23 right there just from impulse buys at the register. I switched to buying coffee beans in bulk for $8 a month and cut out the extras. Now my grocery bill dropped to $350 from $400 in just three weeks. Has anyone else found a hidden expense that was flying under the radar like that?

Oh man, that coffee thing hit me hard too. I was grabbing a $10 bag of cold brew concentrate every week without even thinking about it. Switched to making my own at home for like $3 a week and my grocery bill dropped way more than I expected. Also found I was buying those pre-cut fruit cups for lunch at $4 each when I could just cut up a whole melon for a quarter of the price. Little stuff adds up fast, your mileage may vary but checking the receipt line by line was eye opening for me too.

Precut fruit cups are just expensive water pretending to be healthy.
