Does that $6k figure count the extra time spent shopping and cooking or just the money saved on food?

my buddy tried the whole meal prep thing last year and yeah the $6k figure is just food cost. he spent like 4 hours every sunday chopping veggies and portioning stuff out, plus another hour at the store. after 3 months he gave up cause he was spending more on takeout to make up for the time he lost on weekends. the math might work on paper but in real life it's way different.
