Swapped my messy spreadsheet for a simple Kanban board last month and it actually fixed our team's bottleneck

Oh wait hold up, a Kanban board isn't really meant to fix bottlenecks directly. It shows you where the bottleneck is but it doesnt fix it on its own. If you just moved your spreadsheet to a board without actually changing how work flows through your team, the bottleneck is still there you just see it more clearly now lol. The real fix comes from limiting your work in progress and actually stopping new tasks from piling up when something gets stuck. Kanban is great for making the problem visible but you gotta actually use the data to change how your team works. So congrats on the board but make sure youre also using it to cap how many tasks each person has at once, thats the real game changer.

Is this really that big of a deal worth a whole post? Honestly people have been using Kanban boards for years and they are just a fancy to-do list with columns. You probably could have just used a whiteboard and some sticky notes for the same result without getting into some whole process overhaul. Ngl, the bottleneck probably cleared up because your team was paying more attention to the board, not because the format magically fixed anything.
