Am I the only one who thinks prefinished plywood is getting pushed on people who don't need it
I was at a supplier in Columbus last Tuesday and the guy behind the counter kept steering a young couple toward prefinished birch for their garage cabinets. They were paying about $78 a sheet when plain sanded ply was sitting right there for $49. I get the time savings but the edges still need banding and touch up, so where is the actual win for a beginner? Curious if anyone here still buys bare ply for painted work or if I'm just being stubborn about it.
