I used to think a fish tape was just for pulling wire until a crawl space in Phoenix changed my mind

Got a call for a bad drop in a tight spot under a house, and my usual push rod just bent on some old conduit. Grabbed my fish tape, fed it through, and used it to pull a new line back in one clean shot. What's your go-to tool when a standard pull gets stuck?

Glad it worked out but fish tape is literally made for pulling wire. That's its main job, not just a backup.

You're right about fish tape, I always saw it as a last resort before this.

That crawl space sounds brutal. When your fish tape is the only thing that fits, what's the worst bend or blockage you've had to force it through? I had one last month in a 1950s conduit packed with dried mud, took forever to clear.
