Had a buddy who fixed his K1000 shutter in under an hour with just a toothpick and some patience. Might just be that you're not the handiest with small parts. Four hours is a lot of swearing for something some people knock out over coffee.

Feel you on this one - some people get lucky and breeze through it, others end up in a parts-bin nightmare. Not everyone's fingers are built for working inside a camera body with tiny springs and levers. Did you manage to get the shutter sorted in the end or is it still sitting in timeout on your desk?
