Spent $60 on a JIS screwdriver set and it saved me from stripping a Nikon F2

Honestly, I was using a regular Phillips on those tiny screws inside a shutter assembly and kept slipping. Tbh I thought $60 was steep for a set of drivers but I grabbed a Vessel set off Amazon. First try with the JIS bit, the screw came out smooth no damage. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize you've been using the wrong tool for years?

Hold on a minute. I really don't think JIS vs Phillips is that big of a deal for most people. I've been using regular Phillips drivers on Japanese cameras for years and never had a problem as long as the bit was sharp and the right size. A lot of those screws are already soft and damaged from age and abuse, not from the driver type. Spending $60 on a set when a decent Craftsman Phillips would do the same job feels like marketing hype to me. But hey, if it makes you feel better about the work, then it's your money.

Stripping out a stuck screw makes that $60 set look like a real bargain real quick.
