Am I the only one who noticed the port in Newark has no shade at the car pickup lot
Flew into Newark two weeks ago to grab my Camry from the shipper and the holding lot is just baking out there in the sun. My dash said 101 degrees and I sat in line for 50 minutes before they found my keys. There's one little tent for the workers and that's it, so everyone picking up a car is just standing on hot asphalt. The guy at the window said summer is always like this and they're "working on" a canopy. Has anyone picked up in a different port city with actual shade or water, or is this just how it is everywhere?
Did you at least have water with you while you waited? That sounds rough, 50 minutes on hot asphalt with no shade is no joke. I feel for you man, that kind of setup is brutal when you just want to grab your car and go. Honestly it seems like a lot of these lots are just open pavement with zero thought for the people standing around. The workers get a tent but the customers get cooked, which makes no sense. Hope they actually put up that canopy before next summer, because sitting in that heat with no relief is just plain unsafe.
