Dropped $600 on an enclosed transport from Denver to Phoenix and the car showed up with 40 extra miles on it
Back in 2019 I paid $600 to ship my dad's old truck from Denver to Phoenix in an enclosed trailer because I thought open carriers were for beaters. I should have just done an open carrier for $300. The car showed up 2 days late with 40 miles more on the odometer and a fresh coffee stain on the console. The driver said he had to move it between lots in Albuquerque to make room but nobody called me first. I tried to file a claim and the broker just pointed at a line in the contract about "incidental use." Now I always take a photo of the dash and ask if the car will get moved at any point. Has anyone actually gotten a claim paid out for a car that got driven during shipping?
