That time a client ghosted me after 3 months of work
I was working on a website redesign for a coffee shop in Austin back in April. Everything was going fine until the owner stopped returning my emails and calls. I had already spent 40 hours on wireframes and mockups with NO deposit. Turns out they went with a cheaper offshore team and I learned to ALWAYS get 50% upfront. Has anyone else dealt with clients disappearing like that?

lol that's rough but here's something I've been thinking about - maybe they didn't just ghost you for price reasons. Sometimes clients get embarrassed when they realize they can't afford you and just disappear instead of having an awkward convo. I've had people come back months later apologizing saying they felt bad about wasting my time so they just avoided me lol.
