Spent $400 on a high-end brush kit and it's collecting dust - my old wire brushes work better anyway

Wire brushes work great for some things but they'll chew through softer skin finishes way faster than synthetics.

Yeah I mean I get the frustration but idk if I totally agree with phoenix_campbell88 there. It's not really about the synthetic versus natural bristle thing, it's more about the finish you're working with. Wire brushes are great for high viscosity paints or heavy body acrylics but they can leave scratch marks on softer surfaces like certain varnishes or thin glazes. Maybe it's just me but I've found that a good synthetic brush can actually last longer than wire if you're using it right and cleaning it properly. But yeah spending $400 on a kit you don't use is rough, I'd probably just stick with what works and sell the fancy ones on the marketplace.
