The old man making sugar paintings in Chengdu didn't have a single kid watching him
I walked through Jinli Street last month and saw him at the same spot he's been for years, spinning that hot sugar into a dragon in about 30 seconds, but all the kids were crowded around a stall selling bubble tea. My dad used to drag me there in the 90s and I'd beg for one of those sugar horses until he gave in. Does anyone know if there are still neighborhoods in Chengdu where these guys get a real crowd?
