Am I the only one who had a week where nothing went right on the machine?
Last Tuesday was just one of those days. I was running a batch of 50 aluminum parts for a local shop here in Akron. The first one came out perfect, but by the third part the spindle started making this grinding noise. I had to stop and call maintenance, which took 2 hours to get someone out. Turned out it was a bad bearing in the spindle head. That one part cost me half a day and I only got 12 parts done by quitting time. Has anyone else dealt with a sudden machine failure that threw off your whole schedule?

That's rough, man. I had something similar happen last year and it threw off my whole week. @loganburns maybe it's not the end of the world, but when you're already behind and the boss is breathing down your neck, a bad bearing feels like getting kicked in the shins. I was running 6061 on a Friday afternoon and the coolant pump died, ended up having to hand-crank the whole last run just to get the order out by Monday.
