Hot take: Gang tooling on a lathe is actually legit

I was totally against gang tooling for years, thought it was just for production guys with deep pockets. Then my buddy Dave at a shop in Phoenix let me run his gang setup on a Citizen L20, and I cut cycle time by 40% on a medical part. Anyone else find it works better than a turret for smaller parts?

Heard my buddy Mark's shop cut part time in half after they dumped the turret for gang tooling on tiny stainless parts.

Man that's exactly what I'm talking about... small parts especially, the gang tooling just rips through them so much faster. My buddy runs a shop near Houston and he switched over for a batch of little brass connectors, they were done three hours ahead of schedule. The rigidity is way better too, less vibration when you're really pushing the feeds. Once you get past the setup headaches it's a total game changer for sure.
