My curling iron melted a client's extension wefts today

The heat setting was on medium but the barrel still got hot enough to fuse synthetic wefts into a plastic mess. I had to trim out three entire sections and reweave them. Has anyone else had this problem with ceramic barrels and synthetic hair?

Medium heat on ceramic barrels can still hit 400 degrees easy, way too hot for synthetic wefts.

And honestly this whole "higher heat is fine if you're careful" thing extends way beyond hair tools. I notice people say the same about space heaters, pressure cookers, even phone chargers - just because it's rated for something doesn't mean it's safe in all situations. The real issue is people don't think about how heat transfers differently through different materials and then wonder why things melt or catch fire.
