Overheard a neighbor say you can't talk about miscarriage in their family
They were on the porch last week and said it's just 'not discussed' after it happens. Made me realize how many people grieve alone because of rules like that. Anyone else run into topics that are totally off limits in their own community?

What kind of rule is that, to make someone grieve in silence? Makes you wonder who it's really protecting.

The rule is about loud noise at night, not grief itself. You can have a quiet gathering, light candles, play soft music. The problem is blasting a sound system past midnight in a residential area. It's a noise ordinance, not a ban on mourning. They're trying to protect everyone's sleep, not stop people from feeling sad.
