Remember when discussing politics at family dinners was just awkward, not explosive?
I was at my cousin's wedding reception back in 2015, and someone brought up the housing crash... suddenly half the table walked away. Now you can't even mention property tax increases without it turning into a shouting match. Has anyone else noticed holidays getting more tense over the last decade?

My uncle still brings up the 2008 bailout every Thanksgiving like it happened yesterday.

Funny you say that, I've actually seen the opposite. My family talks less about politics now than they did ten years ago. People just steer clear of the whole thing.
