Signed up for this app that promised access to 'forbidden' local customs and secret meetups, but it was just a bunch of scams and fake profiles. Anyone else fall for a cultural experience site that turned out to be garbage?

i just started reading reviews on reddit before even looking at any travel site, saved me from wasting money on stuff like that. plus meeting locals through free apps and walking tours worked way better for me.
