Rant: My entire video essay about a local protest got taken down without a real reason

I was at home in Chicago last Tuesday when I got the email saying my 15 minute video was removed for 'harmful misinformation'. The video just showed footage from a public park and my voiceover explaining the event's history. I filed an appeal right away, but the automated reply just repeated the same vague rule. After 48 hours with no real person answering, I posted the full transcript on a different site. Has anyone else had a video removed for just showing public events?

Man that's so frustrating. Getting hit with the 'misinformation' label for just documenting something is becoming way too common. A friend of mine had a simple interview with a shop owner about closing down taken down for 'unverified content'. It's like the platforms are terrified of anything that even smells like real life now. Your transcript idea was smart.

Actually the transcript idea was Abby's. Just agreeing with it. But yeah, the over-correcting is getting wild.

What's the official line between news and misinformation now, showing up with a camera? Good call on posting the transcript, even if @the_eva is right that it was Abby's idea. The bots are so jumpy they'd probably flag a video of a grocery list if it mentioned current egg prices. At this point, filming a public tree planting might get taken down for promoting unverified foliage.
