Update: Renewed a $99 directory listing after 14 months away from it and it brought in 3 calls in one week
I'd written off paid directories as dead money after a $300 experiment back in 2022 went nowhere, but this smaller local one at $99 a year actually paid for itself by Tuesday, so now I'm wondering which other cheap listings I killed too soon, and has anyone else had a low cost one surprise them like this?
Cheap things get written off way too fast in general. Same thing happens with gym memberships and streaming subs, people cancel after one bad month and never find out it would've clicked later. A $99 listing that pulls 3 calls is basically a $33 cost per lead, which beats a lot of the fancy stuff people brag about. Sometimes the small bets just need more time to cook than we give them.
