The day my 'perfect' Chiang Mai cafe turned into a disaster zone
I was two hours into a deep work session at my usual spot, a quiet cafe on Nimman Road, when a school group of about twenty kids came in for a field trip. The noise was instant, and then the power went out for the whole block. My laptop battery died at 15%, I lost the draft I was working on, and my next video call was in 45 minutes. I had to run six blocks in the heat to find another place with power and stable wifi, sweating through my shirt before the call even started. Anyone else have a go-to spot completely ruined by one bad afternoon?

Did you ever go back to that cafe or was it a total write-off?

Nah, gave it another shot last week. Honestly, the coffee was still just okay, but the wifi is way more reliable now. I'd say it's worth a second chance if that was your main issue.

Guess the wifi upgrade is their real product now, so maybe Blake can finally send that email.
