Been seeing too many folks skip the primer step on fresh drywall
A neighbor in my complex just had to tear out his entire mud job from last weekend because the paint started peeling after 3 days. Why do people keep thinking you can skip PVA primer on bare drywall?

People get in a hurry and think they know better than the instructions. I see this same thing with people skipping the weed barrier under their garden beds and wondering why they're pulling crabgrass all summer. Or the folks who buy cheap phones without a screen protector and act surprised when they drop it and get a crack. It's like everyone wants the shortcut but forgets the shortcut usually leads to a do-over. Primer is like the seatbelt of drywall work - you might get away without it a few times but eventually it'll cost you.
