Blew $340 on a paint sprayer for one accent wall and went back to a roller
I bought a $340 sprayer to paint one accent wall in my living room in Boise. It took me 3 hours to tape and cover everything, and I still got overspray on the carpet. Does anyone actually use a sprayer for small jobs, or did I just fall for the marketing?
You said it took 3 hours to tape and cover everything, which is the part nobody warns you about. That prep time is the real cost of a sprayer, not the $340. So here's what I want to know: how long would the roller have taken you start to finish on that same wall? If it was under an hour, then you already have your answer about the marketing. Also, what did you do about the overspray on the carpet? That stuff can set fast and then you're really stuck. I keep hearing sprayers are only worth it for cabinets, fences, or whole rooms with no trim to mask off.
