Just finished my deck and the difference between treated lumber and composite was huge
I built a 12x16 foot deck last spring, one side with pressure-treated pine and the other with a basic composite. After one winter in Ohio, the treated wood has already warped in a few spots and needs a fresh coat of stain. The composite side just needed a quick hose down and looks exactly the same. I thought the upfront cost was too much, but now I wish I'd gone all composite. Anyone have a good brand of composite that doesn't get super hot in the sun?

My Trex deck in Arizona still looks new after five brutal summers.

Yeah, my buddy in Phoenix has one. He actually burned his feet pretty bad one July afternoon, said it was like walking on a frying pan. They ended up getting those big outdoor rugs just so the kids could play out there. The color still looks perfect though, no argument there.

Forget fading, @wendyj24, I wonder if it gets too hot to walk on barefoot.
