Question about fixing a wobbly ceiling fan

I was at the hardware store in Springfield last Tuesday, trying to find a new blade bracket for my old fan. This older guy, maybe in his 70s, saw me looking confused at the parts wall. He walked right over and said, 'Kid, 90% of the time that wobble isn't the blades, it's the canopy.' I had no idea what he meant. He explained that the metal bowl covering the ceiling mount can work loose over years, and the whole unit hangs off-center. He told me to go home, take the fan down, and just tighten the two long screws inside the canopy with a socket wrench before I bought anything. I did it that night, and sure enough, the wobble is totally gone. Saved me about 40 bucks on new parts. Has anyone else had a fan fix that simple after expecting a bigger job?

Honestly, that canopy tip is solid, but tbh I've seen wobbles start after people dust the blades. They grab one blade to spin it while cleaning and accidentally bend the metal arm a tiny bit. Ngl, my own fan got a shimmy after my roommate "dusted" it. I had to take each blade off, lay them on a flat table to find the bent one, and gently bend it back. Took forever but it fixed it.

My fan's wobble was definitely the bent blades.
