Hot take: That 16-inch wide cut I made last Tuesday came out perfect on the first try

I was sure I'd have to redo that section on the Mississippi River job because the current was pushing hard, but I held the ladder steady and the cutter just tracked like butter, has anyone else had a weirdly smooth day like that out of nowhere?

Fair enough, but from where I sit a perfect first cut on a 16-inch wide section under heavy current sounds more like luck than skill. The Mississippi can shift your ladder in ways you don't feel until it's too late, and one good day doesn't erase all the other times it fought back. Your mileage may vary, but I usually don't trust a smooth run like that until I've had at least three in a row.

Wait, do any of you ever have that moment where the river just DECIDES to let you through? Like I had this one time on the Kennebec, total opposite situation - my first cut of the day was an absolute MESS, ladder slipped sideways, tore a chunk out of my waders. Then the second time through that same spot it was like the water itself stepped aside and said "go on, take your best shot." I don't know man, sometimes I think these rivers have moods just like people do.
