I've been stripping 12-gauge with my linesman's pliers for years because it was faster.

Watched a guy on a job in Calgary use a proper stripper and realized I've been nicking the copper every single time. What's your go-to tool for clean wire prep?

Oh man... that's a classic move right there. I did the same thing for ages until an old-timer showed me how those tiny nicks can cause hot spots over time. Now I keep a simple manual stripper in my bag, the kind with the different gauge holes... it's slower but you get a perfect ring every single time. Makes a real difference on terminations you know?

Wait, hot spots from little wire nicks? That's actually a thing?
