Showerthought: I called 'building an audience before you have a product' total nonsense for years

I finally tried it for my new tool idea, spent 90 days just talking to people in a Facebook group about their problems, and now I have 200 people ready to buy a thing I haven't even built yet. What's something you were totally wrong about that actually worked?

My buddy swore up and down that cold email was dead, but he gave it a shot last month and landed his first three clients that way lol.

Cold email isn't dead, it just got a lot harder (and smarter) to do right.

Two hundred people is solid proof, but I'm with @the_wesley on cold email still working if you do it right.
