I finally understood why my jacket pockets kept looking wrong
I was sewing a wool blazer in my Chicago apartment last weekend and my friend Sam pointed out I'd been cutting the pocket bags from the same fabric as the lining, which was too flimsy. The whole pocket would sag and pull the jacket front out of shape after just a few wears. What's your go-to sturdy but light material for hidden pocket bags?

Ever have one of those mistakes that seems so obvious once someone points it out? I've had jackets do that same weird sagging thing... it's so frustrating. For hidden bags, I've had good luck with a light cotton canvas or even a heavier broadcloth. They add structure without making the whole thing bulky.

Yeah, @ryan_nelson, that sag is the worst.

My last jacket looked like a sad potato sack.
