That kombucha basically became a science experiment on your coffee table. Nothing says literary discussion like a live culture explosion between the book pages. Bet they thought you were brewing a tiny monster in a jar instead of a drink. The fizz probably made more noise than their analysis of last month's pick. Classic case of homemade brew being more dramatic than the book's plot.

My friend brought a jar of her beet kvass to a potluck once. The lid wasn't on tight for the car ride. It popped off in her bag and dyed everything, including her library book, a violent pink. The book club spent twenty minutes just staring at the stained pages. Her fermented drink definitely upstaged the actual meeting topic.
