Lost $150 on a 'miracle' gutter guard set I saw on a late night ad

I bought those foam inserts that claim to keep leaves out of your gutters. They just clogged up with gunk and water overflowed the edges within 3 months. Anyone else have a product fail way faster than you expected?

Honestly it feels like that's just how everything is now though isn't it. You buy something that looks good on the commercial and it falls apart before you even get to really use it. I swear they test these things in a lab for like a week and then just ship them out hoping nobody notices for a few months until the return window closes. My buddy bought those same foam inserts and his gutters ended up heavier than if he just let the leaves pile up because they held all the moisture against the house. It's like the whole world is designed to break or fail right after you get used to it so you have to buy another one.

Actually, the foam ones usually let water run through, not soak it up.
