A cracked door taught me to never skip the edge inspection.
I was putting in a tempered glass door last week and rushed through the prep. I skipped checking the edges for small chips or cracks. When I set the door, a tiny chip I missed made the whole pane shatter. In my experience, this kind of thing happens when you try to save time. Is it really that easy for a glass door to just EXPLODE? I saw a video once where a small scratch made a whole window shatter. Tempered glass is under a LOT of stress, so any weak spot can break it all. I would be paranoid too, checking every little mark for weeks. Stuff like that makes you realize how fragile some things are. Hope no one was hurt when it happened.
