PSA: Comic convention trash has me thinking about our fan footprint

Ugh, the paper waste is just as bad. Every table hands out glossy flyers and thick catalogs that just get dumped by the exit. One con I went to actually put all that stuff online with a simple QR code at the entrance instead. It cut down on so much trash. More places should push digital guides and promo codes.

Showerthought: Old school putty jobs seem to outlast today's sealants. What gives?

Exactly, rushing means we use cheaper products designed to set fast, not last long. Have we traded quality for convenience?

A cracked door taught me to never skip the edge inspection.

Is it really that easy for a glass door to just EXPLODE? I saw a video once where a small scratch made a whole window shatter. Tempered glass is under a LOT of stress, so any weak spot can break it all. I would be paranoid too, checking every little mark for weeks. Stuff like that makes you realize how fragile some things are. Hope no one was hurt when it happened.

PSA: My cousin's story about a censored artist made dinner weird

Have you considered asking your aunt what she remembers from that time before mentioning the artist? Honestly, I heard a podcast about Cold War censorship and it talked about how personal memories can be really touchy. Tbh, coming in with stories about suppression might feel like you're accusing her generation of letting it happen. Maybe frame it as wanting to learn from her perspective instead of teaching her history. Ngl, showing respect for her lived experience can open up the conversation without putting her on the spot. It's like building trust before diving into the tough stuff.

I finally got stuck in the middle of a seller hiding previous flood damage

Learned that the hard way with a surprise gym fee last year. Now a paper trail is just automatic for me.
