Swapped my old drop-in range for a slide-in model last month

I always thought they were basically the same thing but the slide-in sits flush with the counter and no more crumbs falling down that gap in the front. Cleaning the stovetop takes half the time now. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a difference?

Did you have to do any extra work on the countertops to get it to fit right?

Yeah, I used to think you could just drop them on and be done. But after trying it myself, I had to shave down the back edge of the counter where it meets the wall to get it flush. Also had to notch out a little bit where the sink sits, because the lip was too thick for the drop-in. Changed my whole approach on these, honestly. Did you guys have to do any of that?
