Compared two free speech forum platforms side by side for a month

I ran the same topic on ProBoards and a newer Discourse site to see which one kept comments up longer. ProBoards had 3 mod removals in 30 days while Discourse had 14, mostly for 'tone' violations. Has anyone else noticed some platforms just handle censorship way differently than others?

Man that Discourse number sounds about right. I ran a gaming forum on there for like 6 months and got a warning for saying someone's hot take was "kinda bad" - they flagged it as incivility or whatever. Meanwhile over on ProBoards I had a dude literally call me a potato in a thread and the mods just left it up. I think the whole "tone" thing is a cop out most of the time. People use it to shut down stuff they just dont want to hear.

It's like people forget how to just talk to each other anymore. I see it everywhere, not just online, like at work people get all weird about saying something directly and it just makes everything more confusing. Tone policing is just a fancy way of saying you don't want to deal with the actual conversation.
