inThat time I cut a huge hole in the wrong wall
You said you learned to knock on the wall and listen, but isn't the real lesson to verify the room itself first? A hollow sound just tells you it's not an exterior wall. I've seen guys knock, hear it's hollow, and still cut into the wrong room because they were in the wrong unit. Always check the room number or a permanent landmark, like which way the hallway runs, before you even pull out a tape.

inEveryone says tap to pay is the future, but my small shop saw a drop in sales after we switched.
Maybe the future just has a cheaper coffee budget. That's a wild side effect of tech making things too easy.

inJust realized my neighbor in Boise had no idea why I couldn't talk about my aunt's funeral arrangements at the block party last month.
That's just how some families are. You can't expect everyone to get your private traditions.
