I stopped at a Circle K off the I-10 last weekend and their ATM was completely out of cash. The screen just said 'temporarily unavailable'. I stood there for a minute and realized I hadn't carried any paper money in over a year, so I didn't even need it. It hit me how much I rely on my phone and cards for everything now, even small buys like a drink. Has anyone else run into a spot where going cashless just wasn't an option?

Three years ago in Portland, a homeowner's glass break sensor kept tripping. I spent an hour checking every window before we saw a fat squirrel on the sill, hurling itself at the glass trying to get to a houseplant. The client just said, 'Well, he IS breaking in, technically.' Anyone else had an animal set off a sensor in a ridiculous way?

Update: I almost gave up on air fryer chicken wings because they kept coming out rubbery.

Turns out, patting them bone dry with a paper towel and NOT overcrowding the basket made them crispy in 15 minutes. Anyone else have a specific trick for wings?

Bought a VPN to watch a show, got my account locked instead

I paid $80 for a year of a VPN service to watch a show that's blocked in my country. The streaming site flagged my account for 'suspicious activity' and locked me out. Now I'm out the VPN money and can't access my paid streaming account either. Where do we draw the line between companies protecting their rights and just punishing paying customers?
