Hit 10,000 miles on my snowmachine this season - didn't see that coming
I've been running a 2018 Skandic out of Fairbanks for trapping and general winter hauling. Last week the odometer rolled past 10,000 miles, which surprised me since I thought the machine was closer to 8,000. That made me realize I've been doing more back and forth to my cabin than I estimated, about 40 miles each trip. Most of those miles are on frozen rivers and packed trails, not deep powder. Has anyone else tracked their winter travel or just ballparked it like I was doing?

That 10k mark sneaks up on you. I hit around 8,500 last winter on my old Tundra running lines near McGrath, and I didn't realize how much ground I was covering until I added up the miles per trip in my notebook. Tracking it exactly is tough when you're just trying to get stuff done and not staring at the gauge. I started logging my trips this year mostly to plan fuel costs better, and it helps to see the real numbers. You got a lot of frozen river miles in there, that's tough on skis and track but good for speed. How's the Skandic holding up with that many miles on it?

Log the miles per trip as they add up way faster than you think, trust me.
