That whole 'more cruise ships than locals' thing is SO true, my buddy was a fishing guide in Ketchikan and said the docks were PACKED with tourists every single day but the town felt empty after 5 PM. He quit because he couldn't even find a place to park his truck.

Yeah I used to roll my eyes at people complaining about tourists but hearing that makes total sense now. Your buddy's parking story really put it in perspective for me.
