That fancy titanium bottom bracket tool I just had to have
I spent $85 on a Hozan C-440 titanium bottom bracket tool because some forum said it was the last one you'd ever buy. First time I used it on a stuck Shimano BB, the tool twisted right in my hand and gouged the frame too. My $15 Park Tool from 2012 still works fine. Anyone else get burned by buying the "bulletproof" version of something simple?

Whoa, wait. It twisted in your hand? Like the tool itself bent or the titanium just gave way under normal torque? I've heard titanium is supposed to be tough but soft at the same time, that's wild it deformed on a BB. And the fact it gouged your frame makes it even worse, that's the kind of damage that sticks with you every time you look at the bike. Your Park Tool sounds like the real hero in this story.

Kinda reminds me of the time I tried using a cheap hex key on a stuck pedal. Snapped clean off, left me with a stub stuck in the crank arm. Had to drill the thing out.
