Rant: A vendor told me my inventory system was trash and they were right
Last month a supplier who delivers our raw materials said our lead times were all over the place. I got defensive at first but then I actually looked at our stock records. Turns out we had 40% of our shelf space taken up by things we hadn't touched in six months. That vendor recommended I set a simple reorder point based on actual sales not gut feelings. I spent two days cleaning out old stock and putting new min/max counts on everything. Now our order accuracy went from 70% to 92% in just three weeks. Anyone else have a supplier call them out on something that ended up being a huge help?

Oh man, @loganburns hit it right on the head! I will say though, a 70% order accuracy rate isn't necessarily the end of the world since most places hover in the 60-80% range before they fix things. Congrats on the quick turnaround, that kind of jump is really impressive.
