Showerthought: I used to think you needed a fancy computer to start coding

When I first tried learning a few years back, I spent weeks trying to get a full development environment running on my old laptop and kept hitting walls. Then last month, a friend showed me a free online editor that runs right in the browser, no install needed. I built my first working script in an afternoon, which was a huge confidence boost. Has anyone else found that simpler tools made a bigger difference than they expected?

I had the exact same mindset for years. I thought I needed a powerful desktop setup just to learn Python basics. My old laptop would overheat trying to run a local server, and I'd give up. Then I tried a site like Replit where you just click and start typing code. It completely changed my approach. Removing that setup barrier let me focus on the actual problem solving, which is the whole point.

Lol right? It's like we all got tricked into thinking we needed NASA's computer. @miam11 is spot on, the fancy setup just gets in the way. The real work happens when you stop fighting your tools and just start typing.
