Tried to debug code at my local coffee shop and the wifi crashed my whole setup
I was at Brew & Byte in Austin last Tuesday trying to fix a stupid syntax error in my first Python project. Their wifi bombed out mid-edit and I lost all my unsaved work, now I always hit ctrl+s after every single line. How do you guys avoid losing progress when learning?

Yeah but is it really that serious though? You're still learning Python right? Losing a few hours of code when you're just starting out is like stubbing your toe in the dark. Annoying yeah but you're gonna rewrite it better anyway since you already know what the stupid syntax error was. I get the auto-save stuff sounds smart but sometimes you gotta just learn the hard way so you remember to hit ctrl+s next time. It's not like you lost your whole career or anything.

I lost three hours of work last month at a Starbucks in Phoenix because their power went out. Now I use Google Colab for everything when I'm out of the house. It saves to the cloud automatically every few seconds so I never lose stuff. Also started using Git for local projects and commit way too often just to be safe. The ctrl+s habit will save you a ton of headaches once it kicks in.
