A job in the Houston ship channel made me rethink my whole 'just push through it' attitude.
We were doing a hull clean on a big container ship and I was fighting a really bad seal on my mask. My neck was getting raw, but I figured it was just part of the job. The dive supervisor topside, a guy named Carl, saw me messing with it for the third time and called me up. He said, 'A leak you ignore at 10 feet is a flood at 100.' He made me swap out the whole skirt assembly right then. It cost us maybe 20 minutes, but it saved what would have been a real problem later. Anyone else have a small gear issue they used to tolerate that you finally fixed for good?

Wait, you were diving in the Houston ship channel? That water is nasty. How bad was the visibility?
